Van Conversions Versus
SUVs
Sport utility vehicles
(SUVs) are all the rage, even though their four-wheel drive and
other sport utility features are often overkill for those who only
take them on shopping trips or use them for commuting. The overall
length and width of a van conversion is about identical to a full
size SUV. SUVs lack so many features and amenities, it is difficult
to discern practical reasons for their popularity.
For families that need
seating and cargo room--and want the entertainment of 22" flat
screen TV's, video game hook-ups, power sofas, surround sound system,
high-back leather captain chairs, conversions provide as many luxurious
features and space as you could want or need. Towing is never a
problem; most conversion vans will tow at least 6000 pounds!
Besides plenty of room
to move around and customized interiors, conversions outshine SUVs
in almost every way. They offer a more comfortable ride, a lower
step-in, wider doors, and better access to all seats. They are generally
more fuel-efficient, and they certainly are more versatile with
their fold-down sofas and quick release removable seats.
With all these features,
conversion vans generally are priced the same or lower than most
full size SUV's.
If safety is a concern,
you will see that a conversion van is lower to the ground and has
a wider wheel track than SUV's. A van conversion is not as susceptible
to a roll over like some SUV's. Conversion Van companies are required
to pass safety testing just like the major car manufacturers. You
can be assured of your families safety in a luxury converted van.
